October Get the Point Health Focus
October is Breast and Prostate Cancer Awareness Month
Early detection of cancer greatly increases the chances for successful treatment. There are two major components of early detection of cancer: education to promote early diagnosis and screening. Recognizing possible warning signs of cancer and taking prompt action leads to early diagnosis. Increased awareness of possible warning signs of cancer can have a great impact on the disease.
This month, receive a flu shot AND/OR perform a self breast/testicular exam OR have a Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) test done (if you are a male over age 50) OR women have an annual mammogram. Enter your information in the GTP Tracking System to receive up to 45 points.
Annual Accomplishment: • "Received a flu shot" (15 points)
• "Had a Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) (men over age 50)" (15 points)
