Office Space, Anyone?
Dedicated space for Individualized Health Planning Sessions
Office Space Needed
1 office on UAF's West Ridge
1 office on UAA's main campus
One of the most frequent comments about how WIN for Alaska, Inc. can improve IHPs is to have larger, dedicated space, not shared with another wellness consultant.
We are looking for dedicated office space to use for Individualized Health Planning Sessions (IHPs) which start again in October.
If you know of any space that may be available from Sep 15 - Jun 30, please let us know. Contact our IHP Program Manager, Brook Predeger at brook@winforalaska.com or (907) 227-7716.
What? A Marathon?
Think you can't? Think again! We want to help.
If you've ever had even the slightest inkling that you may enjoy running a long-distance race, but have put the "I can't" in front of that thought, take away the apostrophe "t" and think, "I can!"
There are two major running events approaching and WIN for Alaska, Inc. would like to help you prepare. [more]

July Get the Point Health Focus
Drink lots of water daily
Drink a minimum of 8-12 servings of water daily for at least 25 days of the month, and
record your consumption every day. It's worth 20 points in Get the Point (GTP).
Download Wellness Goal
If you started the GTP Incentive Campaign in April, July is the last month to track points, reach a tier, and earn a 4-month incentive reward.
After you claim your 4-month reward by responding to the reward email, please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery to your university address.
The GTP Tracking System can be used year-round to record your healthful habits and activity. However, you can only earn rewards during an incentive campaign. The next GTP campaign starts in February 2010.

Marathon Comeback
Erika VanFlein completed the Rock-n-Roll Seattle Marathon on June 27. "This was a comeback race for me after not being able to finish the Boston Marathon because of sciatica. Weeks of rehab and reconditioning helped me finish in a respectable time of 4:04:27 on a hot, crowded course. Carefully tracking all my cross-training and rehab activities in the [Get the Point] GTP system helped keep me on track."
