Jennifer Stone is one half of the dynamic duo! This summer while most of us were working in our yards, Jennifer (and her co-worker Aisha) completed their first triathlon together. For both of them it was not just a triathlon but a goal along the path of great health. You see, between the two of them 'the-dynamic-duo' lost over 100 lbs. It was not an easy journey, but they started small and built on it each day. Their goals included not eating out so much, thinking about and planning meals ahead of time, and exercising most days. These goals helped them to be accountable and get results. Having a co-worker to share experiences with, and go to for support, truly has been inspirational and it is working for this team! When Jennifer first started the WIN for Alaska, Inc. triathlon class last February, she could barely run for two minutes. Through daily training and setting reasonable but challenging goals, she has since completed the Women's Gold Nugget Triathlon and the Alaska 10K Classic. Jennifer participated in the WIN for Alaska, Inc. WIN-WIN program, IHP sessions and the triathlon training class. Along the way, Aisha, as well as many other participants and leaders in WIN programs, have provided the encouragement and support that Jennifer needed for living a healthier lifestyle. We can challenge ourselves as individuals and grow and struggle to be the very best in all areas of our lives. However, sharing that experience with a good friend makes the reward doubly wonderful!
