Why keeping track of your health is important to the University of Alaska

"It’s important for you to keep track of your health, and there’s an easy way to get started: Know your numbers. That's blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose and BMI (body mass index).

By knowing your numbers, you can gauge your risk for serious health problems like cardiovascular disease, diabetes and stroke.

Maintaining good health doesn't have to be complicated. Eat well, be physically active, avoid unhealthy habits like smoking and excessive drinking— and know your numbers."

Mike Humphrey
Previous Director of Benefits

Get the Point Tracking System

The Get the Point Tracking System can be used throughout the year to record your healthful habits and activities. Rewards can be earned during the annual Get the Point Incentive Campaign period between February and July.

Track your progress on the Chilkoot Trail.
Visually see your progress as you move your “hiker” along the 33-mile trail while you achieve your goals and improve your health. You will receive trail information and inspirational quotes at each checkpoint! To see your progress on the Chilkoot Trail look on the right side of GTP.

Get the Point Offline (Jan 3-31, 2012)
In preparation for the 2012 Get the Point (GTP) campaign, the GTP system will be down January 3rd through the 31st. During this time, we will be purging participant activity data. This means all of your points will be deleted. Your username and password, along with journal entries and biometrics, will not be affected.

Get the Point Incentive Campaign

The Get the Point 2012 Incentive Campaign begins February 1!
The Get the Point (GTP) Incentive Campaign will begin February 1 and run through July 31. We've added new prizes and updated the system. The program goal remains the same, to help you incorporate healthful habits into your lifestyle and reward you for consistent healthful living.

Beginning in February, track your activities at least once a month in any one of the TWO AND/OR FOUR CONSECUTIVE MONTH incentive campaign periods. There are three campaign periods to choose from (shown below). Once you start tracking, you have TWO AND/OR FOUR CONSECUTIVE MONTHS to complete the GTP incentive campaign. If you don't reach a tier in the first two months, then you can try again. However, once you reach a tier, you are locked into that campaign period, and the system will not allow you to change campaigns to extend your time.

Incentive Campaign Periods:
February - May | March - June | April - July

Interested? Look for details in the next Health Link, or check back here. Only UA Health Plan eligible employees are eligible for prizes.
