Shannon Brady Garman
Director
With almost 20 years experience in the health and fitness industry, Shannon’s ability to recognize market trends and cultivate strategic business partnerships has influenced the culture of health management throughout Alaska. Shannon has been successful at developing and growing her business while taking great passion in helping others. She works hard to create environments that decrease health risks, improve health awareness, and encourage healthy living and positive lifestyle choices. Shannon takes pride in educating her team as well as herself on the latest industry standards in exercise, nutrition, and disease prevention as well as the health coaching and behavior modification techniques needed to inspire clients to make positive health decisions. She also markets, provides wellness and health care solutions, and compiles service and return on investment reports all while overseeing and managing twenty employees.
Her wide range of expertise includes: health and wellness; kinesiology; adult and child education; health science; human performance; CPR/first aid, HIV AIDS Instruction; human resources; workers compensation; ergonomics; safety; and biomechanics. Her additional specialties include Anthropomorphic Skin Fold Testing; bio-impedance; hydrostatic weighing; athletic training; VO2 MAX and sub-MAX testing; nutritional analysis; exercise prescriptions; personal training, business development; and public speaking. Shannon has traveled to over 150 locations throughout Alaska and has enjoyed learning about cultures that make up our state. Shannon received the Alaska Journal of Commerce Top 40 Under 40 Award in 2005 and enjoys serving on the board of several non-profits.
Summer Bass Neuroth
Director
Summer has been able to significantly impact organizations bottom line costs by implementing health management programs as a cost saving strategy.
Her networking, resourcefulness, entrepreneurial spirit, and communication skills have assisted in the growth of a successful pioneering Alaskan business. She has managed employees, subcontractors, and business financials, while at the same developing educational materials. She has invested time incorporating other health professionals to work with WIN for Alaska, Inc. clients so they are ensured true, accurate, and up to date health information. Traveling throughout Alaska has allowed her to learn about the diverse cultures and needs Alaskans face, as well as speak, cultivate, and teach awareness and skills.
Summer has a wide range of experience in Health and Wellness; Kinesiology; Education; Human Performance; CPR/First Aid†Instruction; Human Resources; Workers Compensation; Ergonomics; Safety; and Biomechanics. She received a Merit Oratory Award at the University of Northern Colorado and has given presentations at multiple health conferences. She also received a Certificate of Appreciation for Promoting Health and Wellness within the Community from the State of Alaska, DHSS Commissioner and Alaska State Governor in 2002.

Angelique Garnand
Angelique is a lifelong Alaskan. She has been an ACE certified personal trainer since 2003 and has enjoyed serving a wide variety of clients. She has been a student of yoga for 20 years and has attended numerous yoga workshops. Her continuing education has focused on exercise for special populations, enabling her to find appropriate exercise options for everyone. She believes exercise should be an enjoyable, nurturing and challenging part of daily life.
Brook Predeger, MS
Brook holds a masters degree in exercise physiology with a minor in public health. He received his bachelors degree in exercise science with an athletic coaching minor while on an athletic scholarship at the University of Alaska Fairbanks competing in cross country skiing and running.
He has many years of hands-on experience dealing with lifestyle change and behavior modification in the private health club setting. His encouraging, motivational attitude has facilitated thousands of people to make changes and add health and fitness to their daily lives.
Brook brings a broad range of experience, from lecturing health and wellness to 900 underclassmen at Oregon State University to conducting research with Division I and semi-professional athletes. His specialties include multiple human performance assessments. Brook is a lifelong Alaskan and an avid outdoorsman.
Dustin Hendricks
Dustin has been working in the fitness and health industry for over 6 years. He is currently an I.S.S.A certified personal trainer, free motion training certified, as well as being certified as an ergonomic specialist. He has attended Cabrillo College, University of Minnesota Crookston, as well as University of Alaska Anchorage where he studied Physical Education and attended fitness leadership and nutrition classes. On top of his studies he also played college football at the University of Minnesota Crookston and Cabrillo College. Dustin has a wide variety of experience, which includes fitness training and counseling, High Intensity Training (HIT), fitness boot camps, general fitness, sport specific training, and injury recovery training.
Ed Brandt
Ed learned late in life that exercise, nutrition and healthful habits are possible at any age. Sedentary until his 30s, he made up for lost time, becoming a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor, as well as an adjunct physical education instructor at the University of Alaska Anchorage. He has experience teaching and training people from all walks of life, all ages and all fitness levels. Ed is a UAA and ACE certified personal trainer and a UAA certified group fitness instructor. He participates in extensive ongoing education, including certifications in golf conditioning, NIKE GO! training (elementary school fitness) and several other classes and workshops
Heidi Beer
Heidi has over 15 years of experience in the health and fitness field. She is an experienced mentor for individuals and groups looking to improve their health and wellness. Heidi has directed local and out-of-state triathlons as well as volunteers for many of the local races and sporting events. Her experience and education include: ACE-certified personal and group fitness trainer, YMCA-certified personal trainer, AFAA and AAAI/ISMA group fitness certified, sports-specific trainer, triathlon coach, over 12 years of personal training and coaching experience, and race and volunteer coordinator.
Judy A. Ellenburg, MS
Judy has a masters degree in nutrition from Bastyr University. She is originally from Guelph, Ontario, Canada. She worked and studied at the University of Guelph for 13 years and attended nutrition classes in conventional nutrition as well as alternative and natural ways to approach nutrition.
After finishing her education at Bastyr, she worked at Children's Hospital and RMC in Seattle in the dietary department for two years. Judy has been providing nutrition education since 2005 in Anchorage, with a primary focus on whole food nutrition. Judy’s nutritional services focus on teaching people how to plan, shop, cook and eat well to achieve long lasting health.
Kelly Heithold, MS
Kelly has extensive experience in the health and wellness field. She received her undergraduate degree in health and physical education and taught at the K-12 level. After receiving her graduate degree in Exercise Science from Wayne State College, she was an instructor in the Health and Human Performance department, teaching athletic performance and sport nutrition, lifestyle assessment and management, motor learning and development, aquatics, and exercise science practicum classes. She coordinated the WSC Wellness Program, working with students, faculty, staff and members of the community.
She has also worked in Public Health as Community Health Specialist, serving as a community health resource, promoting community and worksite health programs, coordinating community mobilization efforts, and conducting disease surveillance and investigations.
Kelly has been an instructor trainer for the American Red Cross teaching first aid and CPR for the Professional, Lifeguard Instructor, and Water Safety Instructor classes. She has additional training and experience in facilitation methods from the Institute of Cultural Affairs, social marketing, and workstation ergonomic assessments.
Health and wellness have always been a passion for Kelly. She is dedicated to empowering people to take charge of their health and wellness in order to have energy to enjoy the highest quality of life possible.
Vanessa Polvi, MS
Vanessa graduated with a master's degree in Exercise Physiology and Physical Education from Minnesota State University. She also attended Oregon State University where she competed as a varsity swimmer and earned her bachelor’s degree in Science. Vanessa’s dedication to helping people achieve their personal goals has taken her from coaching university swim teams, to designing sport specific training clinics for athletes, to becoming a college professor. Vanessa has educated hundreds, if not thousands, of college students on specific health and science related topics.
She was responsible for the development and implementation of comprehensive course materials for classes such as Health and Wellness, Stress Management, Exercise Psychology, and Anatomy and Physiology. In addition, Vanessa also has practical experience working in a physiology lab setting. She has been known to design training regimes based off of VO2 max test results, established body fat compositions, and developed dynamic strength training regimes for individuals.
Vanessa enjoys researching and delivering the most up to date information about nutrition, cardiovascular health, psychosocial health, and disease prevention to family, friends, and colleagues. Her unique teaching style, coaching experience and in-depth knowledge of health and the human body makes her a great addition to the WIN team. She loves to run, snowboard, surf, travel, fish, and most of all, spend time with family and friends.

Cindy Salmon, LD, RD
Cindy is a Registered Dietitian and fitness trainer whose mission is to help clients make healthy choices. As a lifelong Alaskan with 15 years working in office administration, she understands the challenges of work and life stressors. Cindy received a Food & Nutrition Science Degree from Northern Arizona University, and completed her dietetics internship at University of Alaska Anchorage.
Continuing education over the last 10 years has included sports nutrition, fitness/wellness, diabetes, eating disorders, behavior change, celiac disease, kidney disease, and cardiovascular health. Her favorite activities include skijoring, alpine skiing, rollerblading, biking, watching it snow and having a good laugh.
Diann Darnall, MEd
Over the past 33 years in Fairbanks, Diann has been involved in health and fitness. She has coached youth and adults in baseball, soccer, basketball, and table tennis. She also taught physical education and coached varsity basketball at the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) for over six years.
Diann received her masters in education from UAF. As a life coach, she has helped people overcome obstacles, balance their lives, and live their dreams. She has given numerous workshops on creating optimism, reducing stress, improving communication, team building, living well, and dealing with change.
Diann lives an active life photographing nature, hiking, biking, snowshoeing, skiing, and playing table tennis.
Gerald Damron, BSC
Gerald has a bachelor of science in athletic training from Boise State University and is a certified personal trainer with the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He has owned and managed fitness facilities and has over 10 years experience working with clients. He is a volunteer coach in power lifting and a community member on the bocce team for Special Olympics, which he thoroughly enjoys. Gerald has a lifelong history in fitness, health, and sports. His activities have included karate, in which he holds a black belt, baseball, weightlifting, training, and skiing. He has spent much of his life in Fairbanks.
Heidi Stevens, MA, ATC, CSCS
Heidi earned a masters degree in education (emphasis in physical education) and a bachelors degree of exercise science in athletic training from California Lutheran University. She has worked as a certified athletic trainer for 10 years in the university setting. Her expertise includes sports injury prevention, rehabilitation, and nutrition education. She is an ACE-certified group exercise instructor and enjoys teaching classes such as boot camp, Pilates, spinning, resistance training, interval training, and circuit classes.
Heidi is also a fitness specialist. She has a passion for health and fitness, maintains a healthy lifestyle, and enjoys outdoor sports.
Janice Cook
Janice served as a US Navy hospital corpsman (LPN equivalent) for eight years. In the service she expanded her knowledge of the human body by studying histology, a laboratory field dealing with body tissues.
Janice is a certified alpine ski coach and a body building champion, placing first in two categories at the 2007 Alaska State Championships. She has led group fitness classes such as PACE, Body Pump, and boot camp, is a certified ISSA trainer, and is working toward becoming a certified nutritional instructor. She has lived in Fairbanks for 13 years.
Juneau Wellness Consultant
Kathrin Millhorn
Kathrin received a degree in Elementary Education from the University of Alaska Southeast, and has continued to pursue health and recreation. Working in aquatics for over 20 years, she has taught individuals of all ages how to be safe in, on and around the water as well as assisting them in development of plans for fitness swimming programs. She coaches the Juneau-Douglas High School swim team and works with Glacier Swim Club. In her role as a swim coach she helps swimmers set and achieve their goals by assisting them with improving their stroke technique, combining water time with a dryland program and encouraging good nutritional habits.
Kathrin holds a number of certifications, among those: State of Alaska certified Emergency Medical Technician 1, American Heart Association Basic Life Support Instructor, Yogafit Level 1 Instructor, Water Safety Instructor & Instructor Trainer and Lifeguard Instructor & Instructor Trainer. She has served as an American Red Cross instructor for HIV/AIDS Education, CPR/AED, First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens, Wilderness First Aid, and Pet First Aid.
